As we work to develop our students' shared understanding of their next steps in the learning journey, many educators have landed on an activity where students make personal connections to the language of acquiring, developing, refining, mastering, and extending with an activity they complete outside of school. Such examples include learning to play the flute, learning to ride a bike, learning to swing on the monkey bars, learning to play hockey, and learning to speak a new language to name a few. As conversations with our educators have evolved, some have connected about the notion of a coach and made images of two hands to support someone in their learning.
